HOW IT BEGAN
My passion for the spa industry started at the young age of 13. My mother, wanting to treat my sister to a special spa day for her sweet 16th birthday, decided to spoil us both to a facial and pedicure at an Ottawa spa. I remember going into the change room to put on my wrap and robe, only to come out and my wrap seemed much longer than my sisters. They hadn’t advised me that it goes under your arms, not around your waist!
We were treated to facials first where our skin was cleansed, exfoliated, extracted and massaged. Then we had luxurious pedicures, with an herbal foot soak and perfect polish application. Leaving in our foam slippers we definitely walked out feeling like princesses.
Fast forward a few years and my collection of Wet’n’Wild nail polish couldn’t be rivaled, with every colour under the sun from dark blue to yellow to electric orange. The early signs of an Aesthetican in the making.
This passion paired with a few pints of entrepreneurial blood and it was only a matter of time before Blush & Black, now known as the Ritual Spa, was born.

Bri - Senior Aesthetician
Hello! My name is Bri, my esthetics career and love for Eminence Organics has been blossoming for over 10 years. But my love of all things skincare started as a young girl doing clay masks with my loving dad.
I began my post secondary education at the Barrie College of Hair and Esthetics in 2011 and truly love continuing education through courses to keep up with the latest trends and techniques.
I was lucky enough to begin my career in a beautiful spa located in the town I was raised for almost 10 years. Learning the ins and out from the desk to the treatment rooms was essential to the passion I developed for the spa industry.
The Ritual Spa came into my life as Blush & Black in 2021. I was nervous to start over but the day I met with Laura and we discussed the business she had developed and what her future goals were, I KNEW I had found my forever home.
